Van gaal not tender resignation

I think there may be some confusion here!

Louis van Gaal, the former manager of Manchester United, did indeed resign as manager of the club in May 2016. He was replaced by José Mourinho.

So, to clarify, Louis van Gaal did tender his resignation as Manchester United manager, and it was accepted by the club.
