Justice Ariwoola was born on August 22, 1958, in Iseyin, Oyo State, Nigeria. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1980 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1981. He has also attended various professional courses and conferences, including the National Judicial Institute's (NJI) Advanced Course for Judges and the International Judicial Conference in the United States.

As the CJN, Justice Ariwoola is responsible for the administration of the Supreme Court and the entire judiciary in Nigeria. He is also the head of the Nigerian judiciary and plays a key role in the country's justice system.
