Wilshere reveals why he left arsenal

Jack Wilshere, the former Arsenal midfielder, has revealed why he left the club in 2018. In an interview with The Guardian, Wilshere explained that he was forced to leave Arsenal due to a combination of factors, including a lack of playing time, injuries, and a desire to play regularly.

Wilshere, who made his professional debut for Arsenal in 2008, had been a key player for the club, making over 200 appearances and winning two FA Cups. However, his career was plagued by injuries, including a serious ankle injury in 2011 that kept him out of action for over a year.

Despite his efforts to regain his fitness and form, Wilshere struggled to break back into the Arsenal team, and he eventually left the club in 2018 to join West Ham United on a free transfer.

"I think I was always going to leave Arsenal," Wilshere said in the interview. "I was 26, and I hadn't played a lot of football. I was getting to the stage where I needed to play regularly, and Arsenal weren't able to give me that.

"I had a few injuries, and when I came back, I was trying to get back into the team, but it was tough. I was playing well, but I wasn't playing regularly. And I think the club was looking to bring in new players, and I was getting pushed down the pecking order.

"I think it was a combination of things. I was getting older, and I needed to play regularly. I needed to get my career back on track, and I needed to play for a team that was going to give me that opportunity."

Wilshere also spoke about the emotional toll of leaving Arsenal, a club he had been with since he was a young boy.

"It was tough, leaving Arsenal," he said. "I'd been there since I was 9 years old, and it was all I'd ever known. It was like leaving home, in a way. But I knew it was the right decision for me.

"I'd been through a lot with the club, and I'd won a lot of things. But I knew that if I wanted to get my career back on track, I needed to leave. And I'm glad I did, because I've been able to play regularly and win things with West Ham."

Overall, Wilshere's decision to leave Arsenal was a difficult one, but he believes it was the right choice for his career and personal well-being.
