Solskjaer gives man utd injury update after training knocks
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an injury update on Manchester United players after a training session that saw several players pick up knocks.
Speaking to the media, Solskjaer said: "We had a good session today, but unfortunately, we had a few knocks. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Scott McTominay all picked up injuries, and we'll have to assess them further."
Rashford, who has been in excellent form this season, was forced off the training pitch with a suspected hamstring strain. Martial, who has been struggling with a knee injury, also left the session early, while McTominay, who has been a key player in midfield, was seen limping off the pitch.
Solskjaer added: "We'll have to wait and see how they react to treatment, but it's not looking good for the next game. We'll have to assess them further and make a decision on whether they'll be available for selection."
The injuries come at a bad time for Manchester United, who are set to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday. The Red Devils are currently third in the table, just two points behind leaders Liverpool, and will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 1-1 draw with Everton last weekend.
Solskjaer will be hoping that the injuries are not too serious and that his players will be available for selection against Chelsea. However, with the busy festive period approaching, the United manager will be keen to get his players fit and ready for the challenges ahead.
In the meantime, Solskjaer will have to rely on his squad depth to get the job done. He has a number of options available to him, including Mason Greenwood, who has been impressing in recent weeks, and Juan Mata, who has been in good form off the bench.
Manchester United will be hoping to get back to winning ways against Chelsea and maintain their push for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
