Sermon on good news
Here is a sermon on the good news of Jesus Christ:
Title: The Good News of Jesus Christ
Text: Luke 2:10-11, "But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.'"
Introduction:
In a world filled with bad news, it's refreshing to hear some good news. We're constantly bombarded with reports of violence, poverty, and suffering. It's easy to feel overwhelmed and hopeless. But today, I want to share with you some good news that can change everything.
The Good News:
The good news is that Jesus Christ has come to save us from our sins. He is the Savior, the Messiah, the Lord. This is not just a nice idea or a feel-good message. This is a life-changing, eternity-altering truth.
The Problem:
Before we can understand the good news, we need to understand the problem. We are all sinners, and our sin separates us from God. We can't earn our way to heaven or fix our own problems. We need a Savior.
The Solution:
That's where Jesus comes in. He is the Son of God, sent to earth to live a perfect life, die on the cross for our sins, and rise from the dead on the third day. He is the only one who can bridge the gap between us and God.
The Benefits:
So what does this good news mean for us? It means that we can have a personal relationship with God. It means that we can be forgiven of our sins and start fresh. It means that we can have eternal life and live forever with God.
The Call:
So what do we do with this good news? We respond by putting our faith in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that we are sinners, and we ask for His forgiveness. We invite Him to come into our lives and be our Lord and Savior.
The Promise:
When we do, we can be confident that we will receive the gift of eternal life. We will be given a new heart, a new spirit, and a new purpose. We will be able to live a life that honors God and brings joy to others.
Conclusion:
The good news of Jesus Christ is not just a message; it's a person. It's a person who loves us, who died for us, and who wants to be our Savior. I pray that you will receive this good news today and experience the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, we thank you for the good news of Jesus Christ. We thank you for sending Him to save us from our sins. We ask that you would help us to respond to this good news by putting our faith in Jesus and inviting Him to be our Lord and Savior. Amen.
