Psalm 16 good news bible

Psalm 16

  1. Keep me safe, God, for I have come to you.
  2. You are my Lord, my God, my Savior.
  3. You are my rock, my shelter, my Savior.
  4. My hope is in you, Lord God, the one who made heaven and earth.
  5. You said, "You are my son; today I have become your Father."
  6. You are my inheritance, my cup, the privilege of my blessing.
  7. You hold my lot secure in your holy hand.
  8. My destiny is among the holy ones, among those who are pleasing to you.
  9. I will praise the Lord, who counsels me, even at night my heart instructs me.
  10. I have set the Lord always before me; he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
  11. My heart is glad, my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure.
  12. For you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your holy one see decay.
  13. You will show me the path of life, the abundance of joy in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.
  14. The Lord makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters.
  15. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.
  16. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.
  17. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
  18. Only goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
