New zealand states list

I think you meant to ask for a list of regions in New Zealand, not states! New Zealand is divided into 16 regions, which are:

1. Auckland Region
2. Bay of Plenty Region
3. Canterbury Region
4. Chatham Islands Region
5. Gisborne Region
6. Hawke's Bay Region
7. Manawatu-Wanganui Region
8. Marlborough Region
9. Nelson Region
10. Northland Region
11. Otago Region
12. Southland Region
13. Taranaki Region
14. Tasman Region
15. Waikato Region
16. Wellington Region

Note that these regions are not the same as the four main islands of New Zealand: North Island, South Island, Stewart Island, and Chatham Islands.
