New zealand reserve league
The New Zealand Reserve League is a semi-professional association football league in New Zealand, operated by the New Zealand Football Championship. The league was established in 2014 and is the second tier of football in New Zealand, below the ISPS Handa Premiership (formerly known as the New Zealand Football Championship).
The New Zealand Reserve League is a competition for the reserve teams of the clubs that compete in the ISPS Handa Premiership. The league is designed to provide a platform for young players to develop their skills and gain experience, as well as to give the reserve teams of the top clubs a competitive outlet.
The league typically runs from February to October, with each team playing each other twice, once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion.
Here are the teams that have competed in the New Zealand Reserve League:
- Auckland City FC Reserves
- Eastern Suburbs AFC Reserves
- Hamilton Wanderers Reserves
- Hawke's Bay United Reserves
- Team Wellington Reserves
- Waitakere United Reserves
- Wellington Phoenix Reserves
- Canterbury United Reserves
- Cashmere Technical Reserves
- Miramar Rangers Reserves
The New Zealand Reserve League has provided a platform for many young players to develop their skills and gain experience, with some players going on to represent the New Zealand national team. The league has also helped to strengthen the reserve teams of the top clubs, providing them with a competitive outlet and helping to develop their players for the future.
