New year eve sermon

Here's a sample New Year's Eve sermon:

Title: "A New Year, A New Beginning"

Text: Psalm 118:24-25, Isaiah 43:18-19, Revelation 21:4-5

Introduction:

As we gather here tonight, we're not just celebrating the end of another year, but we're also looking forward to the possibilities that the new year brings. It's a time for reflection, a time for gratitude, and a time for hope. As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we're reminded that God is always with us, guiding us, and leading us into a brighter future.

Psalm 118:24-25:

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. The Lord has made it possible for us to enter into His presence, and to experience His love and mercy."

As we look back on the past year, we may have experienced ups and downs, triumphs and failures, joys and sorrows. But as we stand here tonight, we're reminded that God has made this day possible, and that He is always with us, guiding us and leading us into His presence.

Isaiah 43:18-19:

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

As we look back on the past year, we may be tempted to dwell on the things that didn't go as planned, or the things that we wish we could have done differently. But God is saying to us tonight, "Forget the former things, and look to the future." He is doing a new thing, and He is making a way for us to experience His presence and His love in a fresh and new way.

Revelation 21:4-5:

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new!'"

As we look to the future, we're reminded that God is making all things new. He is wiping away our tears, and He is bringing an end to the things that cause us pain and sorrow. He is creating a new heaven and a new earth, where we will live in perfect harmony with Him and with each other.

Conclusion:

As we stand here tonight, we're reminded that God is always with us, guiding us and leading us into a brighter future. We're reminded that He is making all things new, and that He is wiping away our tears. And we're reminded that He is calling us to look to the future, and to trust in His goodness and His love.

So as we welcome in the new year, let us do so with hope and with joy. Let us trust in God's goodness and His love, and let us look to the future with anticipation and expectation. For God is making all things new, and He is calling us to be a part of it.

Prayer:

Dear God, we come to you tonight with gratitude and with hope. We thank you for the blessings of the past year, and we ask that you would guide us and lead us into the new year. Help us to trust in your goodness and your love, and help us to look to the future with anticipation and expectation. Make all things new, and make us a part of it. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Benediction:

May God bless you and keep you, and may His presence be with you in the new year. May you experience His love and His mercy, and may you be a part of all that He is doing in the world. Go in peace, and may God be with you always.
