New jerusalem

The New Jerusalem!

In the Bible, the New Jerusalem is a prophesied city that will be the dwelling place of God among humans, described in the book of Revelation, chapter 21. It is often referred to as the "New Heaven and the New Earth" (Revelation 21:1-4).

According to the prophecy, the New Jerusalem will be a city of gold, precious stones, and pearls, with a wall made of jasper and a foundation of precious stones. The city will be 12,000 stadia (about 1,500 miles or 2,400 kilometers) in length, width, and height, and will be filled with the glory of God (Revelation 21:15-21).

The New Jerusalem is described as a place of perfect harmony, peace, and joy, where there will be no more suffering, pain, or death. It is said to be the ultimate destination of all believers, where they will live in the presence of God forever.

Some of the key features of the New Jerusalem include:

  1. The River of Life: A river that flows from the throne of God, providing water for the city and its inhabitants.
  2. The Tree of Life: A tree that bears 12 kinds of fruit, representing the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles.
  3. The Gates of the City: 12 gates, three on each side, made of pearl, and with angels as gatekeepers.
  4. The Walls of the City: Made of jasper, with 12 foundations, each representing one of the 12 apostles.
  5. The Temple of God: A temple that is the dwelling place of God, where He will dwell among His people.

The New Jerusalem is often seen as a symbol of the ultimate goal of human existence, where God's people will live in perfect harmony with Him and with each other. It is a reminder of the promise of eternal life and the hope of a better future.

In Christian tradition, the New Jerusalem is often associated with the concept of the "heavenly city" or the "city of God," and is seen as a place where believers will be reunited with God and with each other after death.

In modern times, the concept of the New Jerusalem has been used as a metaphor for a utopian society or a perfect community, where people live in harmony and peace.
