History:

The New Jersey Nets were founded in 1967 as the New Jersey Americans in the American Basketball Association (ABA). They joined the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1977 after the ABA-NBA merger. The team played in New Jersey from 1977 to 2012 before relocating to Brooklyn, New York and becoming the Brooklyn Nets in 2012.

Home Arena:

The Nets played their home games at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they played at the Izod Center (formerly known as the Continental Airlines Arena) in East Rutherford, New Jersey from 1981 to 2010.

Championships:

The Nets have not won any NBA championships in their history. However, they did win two ABA championships in 1974 and 1976 before joining the NBA.

Current Status:

The Brooklyn Nets, formerly the New Jersey Nets, are currently playing in the NBA's Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. They have not had a lot of success in recent years, but they have a young and talented core of players, including Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Spencer Dinwiddie.
