New creation sermon

Here's a sermon on the theme of "New Creation":

Title: "New Creation: A Fresh Start"

Text: 2 Corinthians 5:17, Isaiah 65:17-25

Introduction:

Have you ever felt like you're stuck in a rut? Like you're going through the motions of life, but nothing seems to be changing? Maybe you're feeling like you're just going through the motions of your daily routine, but you're not really living. Maybe you're feeling like you're stuck in a cycle of sin and struggle, and you don't know how to break free.

Well, I want you to know that you're not alone. We all go through times like this. But I also want you to know that there is hope. There is a way to break free from the cycle of sin and struggle, and to start living the life that God has called you to live.

The Old Creation:

In the book of Isaiah, we read about the old creation. It's a description of a world that is broken and fallen. It's a world where sin and suffering are rampant, and where people are struggling to find hope and meaning.

But in the midst of this brokenness, God speaks a word of hope. He says, "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind" (Isaiah 65:17). This is a promise of a new creation, a fresh start.

The New Creation:

So what does this new creation look like? It's a world where God dwells with his people, where there is no more crying or pain or suffering. It's a world where God's people are free to live as they were meant to live, in harmony with God and with each other.

But this new creation isn't just a future reality. It's also a present reality. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we become new creations. We are born again, and we are given a new heart and a new spirit.

The Power of the Gospel:

The power of the gospel is that it can transform our lives. It can take us from a place of brokenness and sin to a place of newness and life. It can take us from a place of struggle and suffering to a place of peace and joy.

But this transformation doesn't happen overnight. It's a process that takes time and effort. It's a process that requires us to surrender our lives to God, and to trust in his goodness and his sovereignty.

Conclusion:

So I want to leave you with a challenge today. I want to challenge you to surrender your life to God, and to trust in his goodness and his sovereignty. I want to challenge you to put your faith in Jesus Christ, and to experience the new creation for yourself.

Remember, the old creation is passing away, and the new creation is coming. But you don't have to wait for that day to come. You can experience the new creation right now, through faith in Jesus Christ.

Prayer:

Dear God, we thank you for the promise of a new creation. We thank you for the hope that you give us, and for the power of your gospel to transform our lives. Help us to surrender our lives to you, and to trust in your goodness and your sovereignty. Help us to experience the new creation for ourselves, and to live as new creations in you. Amen.
