Microsoft excel can t insert new cells because
A common issue!
Microsoft Excel can't insert new cells because of one of the following reasons:
- Protected cells or ranges: If a cell or range is protected, you won't be able to insert new cells in that area. To unprotect a cell or range, go to the "Review" tab, click on "Protect Workbook" or "Protect Sheet", and then uncheck the box next to "Protect cells, rows & columns".
- Locked cells: If a cell is locked, you won't be able to insert new cells above or below it. To unlock a cell, go to the "Review" tab, click on "Unprotect Workbook" or "Unprotect Sheet", and then select the cell(s) you want to unlock.
- Frozen panes: If you have frozen panes in your worksheet, you won't be able to insert new cells in the frozen area. To unfreeze panes, go to the "View" tab, click on "Freeze Panes", and then select "Unfreeze Panes".
- Insertion point: Make sure the insertion point is not in a cell that is already occupied by data or a formula. Try clicking on an empty cell or pressing "Ctrl+End" to move the insertion point to the bottom-right corner of the worksheet.
