Insert new row in excel
To insert a new row in Excel, you can follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the Mouse
- Select the row above where you want to insert the new row by clicking on the row number.
- Right-click on the selected row and choose "Insert" from the context menu.
- Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + + (plus sign).
Method 2: Using the Keyboard
- Select the cell below where you want to insert the new row by clicking on it.
- Press the "Insert" key on your keyboard (or use the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + +).
Method 3: Using the Ribbon
- Select the cell below where you want to insert the new row by clicking on it.
- Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon.
- Click on the "Insert" button in the "Cells" group.
- Select "Insert Sheet Rows" from the dropdown menu.
Tips:
- When you insert a new row, all the data below the inserted row will be shifted down.
- You can also insert multiple rows at once by selecting the range of rows you want to insert and then using the "Insert" method.
- If you want to insert a new row at the beginning of the worksheet, select the first row and use the "Insert" method.
