Dua before entering a new home
Here are some common Du'as (supplications) that Muslims recite before entering a new home:
- "Bismillah" (In the name of Allah) - This is a common phrase recited before entering any new place, including a home.
- "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) - This phrase is often recited to seek Allah's protection and blessings.
- "Astaghfirullah" (I seek forgiveness from Allah) - This phrase is recited to seek forgiveness for any past mistakes or sins.
- "Alhamdu lillah" (Praise be to Allah) - This phrase is recited to express gratitude to Allah for the blessings of the new home.
- "Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirin hasanatan wa qina azab al-jahannam" (Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of Hellfire) - This is a longer Du'a that seeks Allah's blessings and protection for the new home.
- "Rabbana hab lana min ladunka rahmanan wa anta khairul-warithin" (Our Lord, grant us from Your mercy and You are the best of inheritors) - This Du'a seeks Allah's mercy and blessings for the new home.
Here's a sample Du'a that combines some of these phrases:
"Bismillah, Allahu Akbar, Astaghfirullah, Alhamdu lillah. Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirin hasanatan wa qina azab al-jahannam. Rabbana hab lana min ladunka rahmanan wa anta khairul-warithin."
Translation:
"In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest, I seek forgiveness from Allah, praise be to Allah. Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of Hellfire. Our Lord, grant us from Your mercy and You are the best of inheritors."
It's worth noting that there is no specific Du'a that is universally recited before entering a new home, and different Muslims may recite different Du'as or phrases. The most important thing is to have a sincere intention and to seek Allah's blessings and protection for the new home.
