Rivian Okpara, a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the cement industry, takes over the reins from Joseph Makoju, who has been the CEO of Dangote Cement since 2018. Okpara's appointment is seen as a strategic move to drive the company's growth and expansion plans in Africa and beyond.

Before joining Dangote Cement, Okpara held various leadership positions at Lafarge Africa Plc, including Managing Director of Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria Plc. He has also worked with other prominent companies in the cement industry, including BUA Cement and Ashaka Cement.

Under Okpara's leadership, Dangote Cement is expected to focus on increasing its production capacity, improving operational efficiency, and expanding its presence in new markets. The company has already announced plans to invest in new projects and upgrade its existing facilities to meet growing demand for cement in Africa and other regions.
