Biography

Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Tanko Muhammad was born on December 31, 1953, in Bauchi State, Nigeria. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982 and began his career as a magistrate in 1983. He was appointed a judge of the High Court of Bauchi State in 1993 and later became a judge of the Court of Appeal in 2005. He was appointed CJN in 2019 and served until his resignation in 2023.
