Buhari new year speech 2018

Here is the text of President Muhammadu Buhari's New Year's Day speech on January 1, 2018:

Fellow Nigerians,

As we mark the beginning of a new year, I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Almighty God for seeing us through another year. I also want to extend my warmest wishes to all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, as we embark on this new journey together.

2017 was a challenging year for our country, but we made significant progress in many areas. We made progress in the fight against corruption, with the establishment of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. We also made progress in the fight against terrorism, with the successes recorded by our military in the North East.

However, we also faced many challenges, including the devastating effects of flooding, the collapse of buildings, and the outbreak of diseases. We also faced the challenge of a receding economy, which affected many Nigerians.

But despite these challenges, we remained resolute in our commitment to building a better Nigeria. We continued to work tirelessly to improve the lives of our citizens, and to create an environment that is conducive to investment and economic growth.

In 2018, we will continue to work towards achieving our goals. We will continue to fight corruption, and to ensure that those who have stolen from our country are brought to justice. We will continue to support our military in their efforts to defeat terrorism, and to protect our citizens from harm.

We will also continue to work towards improving the economy, and to creating jobs for our young people. We will continue to invest in infrastructure, and to improve the quality of life for all Nigerians.

But we cannot do it alone. We need the support and cooperation of all Nigerians. We need your prayers, your patience, and your understanding. We need your help to build a better Nigeria, a Nigeria that is just, equitable, and prosperous for all.

So let us work together to achieve our goals. Let us work together to build a Nigeria that we can all be proud of. And let us always remember that our strength comes from our unity, and our ability to work together towards a common goal.

Thank you, and God bless Nigeria.

Long live Nigeria!
