Buhari's new year message to nigerians 2019
Here is President Muhammadu Buhari's New Year message to Nigerians in 2019:
"Fellow Nigerians,
As we welcome the New Year, I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Almighty God for seeing us through another year. I also want to extend my warmest wishes to all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, as we embark on this new journey.
In the past year, we have made significant progress in our efforts to rebuild and reposition our country. We have taken bold steps to tackle the challenges we face, from insecurity to corruption, and from poverty to infrastructure development.
We have also made significant progress in the fight against corruption, with several high-profile cases being prosecuted and convictions secured. We have also taken steps to strengthen our institutions and improve the efficiency of our public service.
However, we are not unaware of the challenges that still lie ahead. We know that there is still much work to be done to address the issues that affect our daily lives, from power supply to healthcare, from education to infrastructure.
As we begin this new year, I want to assure you that we will continue to work tirelessly to address these challenges. We will continue to prioritize the welfare and well-being of our citizens, and we will continue to strive for a more just and equitable society.
I want to thank the Nigerian people for their patience, understanding, and resilience in the face of adversity. I want to thank our security agencies for their bravery and dedication to keeping our country safe. And I want to thank our international partners for their continued support and cooperation.
As we move forward into this new year, I want to urge all Nigerians to remain committed to our shared values of unity, diversity, and inclusivity. I want to urge us all to work together to build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come.
Thank you, and God bless Nigeria."
