Here is the new BECE (Basic Education Certificate Examination) syllabus for 2020/2021:
Core Subjects:
- English Language:
- Paper 1: Multiple Choice Questions (40 marks)
- Paper 2: Essay and Comprehension (60 marks)
- Total: 100 marks
- Mathematics:
- Paper 1: Multiple Choice Questions (40 marks)
- Paper 2: Short and Long Answer Questions (60 marks)
- Total: 100 marks
- Integrated Science:
- Paper 1: Multiple Choice Questions (40 marks)
- Paper 2: Short and Long Answer Questions (60 marks)
- Total: 100 marks
- Social Studies:
- Paper 1: Multiple Choice Questions (40 marks)
- Paper 2: Short and Long Answer Questions (60 marks)

Elective Subjects:

Grading:
- A1: 80% and above
- A2: 70-79%
- B3: 60-69%
- C4: 50-59%
- D7: 40-49%
- E8: Below 40%

- The syllabus is subject to change by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

- The BECE is a terminal examination, and candidates who pass will be eligible to proceed to the Senior High School (SHS) level.
