Aspen new voices fellowship 2020

The Aspen New Voices Fellowship is a prestigious program that aims to amplify the voices and perspectives of emerging leaders from the Global South. The fellowship is designed to provide a platform for young leaders to share their ideas, experiences, and insights with a global audience.

The Aspen New Voices Fellowship 2020 was a highly competitive program that brought together 20 young leaders from 15 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The fellows were selected from a pool of over 1,000 applicants and were chosen based on their exceptional leadership potential, innovative ideas, and commitment to creating positive change in their communities.

2. Amira Yahyaoui (Tunisia) - Founder, Mawjoudin (We Exist), a LGBTQ+ rights organization
3. Ana Carolina da Silva (Brazil) - Founder, Rede de Mulheres Negras (Network of Black Women)
4. Asha Mwanga (Tanzania) - Founder, Tanzania Youth Coalition on Population and Development
5. Ayah Aman (Malaysia) - Founder, Sisters in Islam, a women's rights organization
6. Binta Jalloh (Sierra Leone) - Founder, Women's Empowerment Network Sierra Leone
7. Caroline Njoki (Kenya) - Founder, Kenya Youth Climate Network
8. Diana Carolina Gómez (Colombia) - Founder, Fundación para la Educación y el Desarrollo (Foundation for Education and Development)

The Aspen New Voices Fellows 2020 participated in a rigorous program that included:

• A week-long retreat in Aspen, Colorado, where they engaged in discussions, workshops, and networking with global leaders and experts
• A series of online webinars and workshops on topics such as leadership, advocacy, and storytelling
• A mentorship program, where they were paired with experienced leaders and mentors
• A global advocacy campaign, where they shared their ideas and perspectives with a global audience
