Arsenal confirm emery appointment as new head coach

Unai Emery was actually appointed as the head coach of Arsenal in May 2018, not confirmed as the new head coach. He was announced as the successor to Arsène Wenger, who had been the manager of the club for 22 years.

Emery's appointment was confirmed on May 23, 2018, and he went on to manage the club for two seasons before being sacked in November 2019. He was replaced by Freddie Ljungberg, who served as the interim head coach before Mikel Arteta was appointed as the permanent head coach in December 2019.
