Agf plans reopen ibori 30 ex govs corruption cases

It appears that the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) has announced plans to reopen 30 corruption cases involving former governors, including James Ibori, a former governor of Delta State.

According to reports, the AGF, Abubakar Malami, made this announcement during a meeting with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies. Malami reportedly stated that the decision to reopen the cases was made after a thorough review of the files and evidence gathered by the agencies.

James Ibori, a former governor of Delta State, is currently serving a 13-year prison sentence in the United Kingdom for corruption and money laundering. He was convicted in 2012 and has been appealing his conviction ever since.

The reopening of the cases is seen as a major development in the fight against corruption in Nigeria, as it suggests that the government is committed to pursuing justice and holding public officials accountable for their actions.

It is worth noting that the reopening of the cases may also raise questions about the potential impact on the political landscape in Nigeria, particularly in the run-up to the 2023 general elections.
