Actionaid calls for transparency in disbursement of n1 6bn fund
ActionAid Nigeria has called for transparency in the disbursement of the N1.6 billion fund allocated to the organization by the Federal Government to support the implementation of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).
In a statement issued on Monday, the organization's Country Director, Ene Obi, said that the organization is committed to transparency and accountability in the use of the fund, and is therefore calling on the government to ensure that the disbursement of the fund is done in a transparent and accountable manner.
Obi said that the organization is committed to using the fund to support the most vulnerable members of society, including women, children, and people with disabilities, and is therefore calling on the government to ensure that the disbursement of the fund is done in a way that is fair and equitable.
The statement reads in part: "ActionAid Nigeria is committed to transparency and accountability in the use of the N1.6 billion fund allocated to us by the Federal Government to support the implementation of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP). We believe that transparency and accountability are essential for ensuring that the fund is used effectively and efficiently to support the most vulnerable members of society.
"We are therefore calling on the government to ensure that the disbursement of the fund is done in a transparent and accountable manner. This includes ensuring that the fund is disbursed in a way that is fair and equitable, and that the organization is held accountable for the use of the fund.
"We are committed to using the fund to support the most vulnerable members of society, including women, children, and people with disabilities. We believe that this is essential for ensuring that the fund is used effectively and efficiently to support the most vulnerable members of society.
"We are therefore calling on the government to ensure that the disbursement of the fund is done in a way that is consistent with our values of transparency, accountability, and fairness.
