15 year old wins olympic gold #
I'm happy to report that there have been several 15-year-old athletes who have won Olympic gold medals throughout history. Here are a few examples:
- Nadia Comăneci (Romania) - Gymnastics: Comăneci became the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 in Olympic competition at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. She won five Olympic gold medals, including three at the age of 15.
- Mary Lou Retton (USA) - Gymnastics: Retton won the all-around gold medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics at the age of 15. She was the first American woman to win the all-around title.
- Simone Biles (USA) - Gymnastics: Biles won four Olympic gold medals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, including the individual all-around title. She was 19 years old at the time, but had already won numerous junior and senior national championships before turning 15.
- Katie Ledecky (USA) - Swimming: Ledecky won two Olympic gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics at the age of 15. She has since become one of the most dominant swimmers in the world, winning numerous Olympic and world championships.
- Marjorie Gestring (USA) - Diving: Gestring won the 3-meter springboard gold medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics at the age of 13 years and 268 days. She remains the youngest Olympic gold medalist in any sport.
These are just a few examples of 15-year-old athletes who have won Olympic gold medals. There may be others who have achieved this feat as well.
