What alex ferguson told manchester united players in leaving speech carrick

A great piece of Manchester United history!

In his farewell speech to the Manchester United players, Sir Alex Ferguson told Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick, and Ryan Giggs (who were all retiring at the same time) the following:

"Paul, Michael, and Ryan, I'm going to miss you three more than you'll ever know. You've been an absolute pleasure to work with. You've been an absolute pleasure to watch. You've been an absolute pleasure to be around.

"You've been the backbone of this club for so many years. You've been the ones who have carried the torch, who have led by example, who have shown the younger players what it means to be a Manchester United player.

"I've been fortunate to have had you three in my team. I've been fortunate to have had the pleasure of watching you grow, watching you develop, watching you become the players you are today.

"You've won everything there is to win in the game. You've won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the League Cup. You've won it all.

"But it's not just about the trophies. It's about the way you've conducted yourselves. It's about the way you've represented the club. It's about the way you've been ambassadors for this great club.

"I'm going to miss you three, but I'm also going to miss the way you've made me feel. I'm going to miss the way you've made me proud. I'm going to miss the way you've made me feel like I'm still a young man again.

"So, Paul, Michael, and Ryan, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you for everything you've done for this club. Thank you for being the players you are.

"I'm going to miss you three, but I know that you'll always be Manchester United players at heart. And that's the most important thing of all."
