Job Summary:

The Department of Water and Sanitation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Water Control Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and control of water resources, including the monitoring and enforcement of water quality standards, as well as the implementation of water conservation measures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and enforce water quality standards in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations
• Conduct regular inspections of water treatment plants, distribution systems, and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure compliance with water quality standards
• Investigate and respond to water quality complaints and incidents
• Develop and implement water conservation measures to reduce water waste and promote efficient water use
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to develop and implement water management plans and policies
• Provide technical assistance and training to water users and other stakeholders on water conservation and management practices
• Maintain accurate records and reports of water quality monitoring and enforcement activities

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Water Science, Environmental Science, or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in water quality monitoring and enforcement, or a related field
• Knowledge of water quality standards and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license
