War card game tie breaker
A classic!
In the popular card game War, when the players tie with the same card, a tiebreaker is needed to determine the winner. Here are the common tiebreaker methods:
- War: The players go to "war" by playing three cards face down and then revealing them. The player with the highest card wins the war and takes all the cards played. If the cards played are again the same rank, the players go to war again, and so on.
- Addition: The players add up the values of their cards. The player with the highest total wins the tiebreaker. For example, if both players have a 5 of hearts, the player with a 5 of diamonds (total value: 10) wins over the player with a 5 of clubs (total value: 5).
- Suit: The players compare the suits of their cards. The player with the higher suit wins the tiebreaker. For example, if both players have a 5, the player with a 5 of hearts (hearts > diamonds) wins over the player with a 5 of diamonds.
- Random Draw: The players draw a new card from the deck, and the player with the higher card wins the tiebreaker.
