Uzodinma terminates road contract abandoned in imo

According to reports, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has terminated a road contract that was abandoned by a contractor in the state.

The contract, which was awarded to a company called Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, was for the construction of a 10-kilometer road in the state. However, the contractor allegedly abandoned the project, leaving it in a state of disrepair.

Governor Uzodinma, who was elected in 2020, has been working to revamp the state's infrastructure, including its roads. In a bid to complete the abandoned project, the governor has terminated the contract with Julius Berger and awarded it to a new contractor.

The new contractor, according to reports, has been tasked with completing the project within a specified timeframe. The governor has also promised to ensure that the project is completed to the highest standards and that the people of Imo State benefit from it.

The termination of the contract is seen as a move by the governor to demonstrate his commitment to completing abandoned projects in the state and to ensure that the people of Imo State benefit from his administration's efforts to develop the state's infrastructure.

It is worth noting that the termination of the contract has been met with mixed reactions from the people of Imo State, with some welcoming the move while others have expressed concerns about the potential impact on the state's economy.
