Unilorin opts out of asuu nationwide strike

UNILORIN (University of Ilorin) has not "opted out" of the ASUU (Academic Staff Union of Universities) nationwide strike. In fact, the university is still under the strike action, just like many other universities in Nigeria.

The ASUU strike, which began on February 14, 2022, is a nationwide strike by academic staff in Nigerian universities, protesting various issues, including the non-implementation of the 2009 FGN-ASUU agreement, poor funding of universities, and the non-payment of salaries and allowances.

As of now, there is no official announcement from UNILORIN or ASUU indicating that UNILORIN has opted out of the strike. The strike remains ongoing, and academic activities are still suspended at the university.
