Tyson fury issues fresh challenge to anthony joshua over fight contract
Tyson Fury has issued a fresh challenge to Anthony Joshua, calling out the British boxer to sign a fight contract and put their rivalry to rest.
Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, has been trying to secure a fight with Joshua for months, but the two camps have been unable to agree on a deal. Fury has accused Joshua's team of stalling and trying to avoid the fight.
In a statement released on social media, Fury said: "I'm calling out @anthonyjoshua to sign the contract and let's get this fight done! I've been waiting for months, but it seems like you're too scared to put pen to paper.
"I'm not going anywhere, I'm still the WBC champion and I'm still the best heavyweight in the world. You can't hide from me forever, AJ. It's time to man up and sign the contract.
"I'm not asking for much, just a fair fight and a chance to prove who's the best. You've been running your mouth for years, now it's time to back it up. Let's do this, AJ!"
Joshua's team has been quiet on the matter, but Fury's latest statement is likely to put pressure on them to respond. The two boxers have a long history of trash talk and mind games, and it's unclear whether they will ever be able to put their differences aside and agree on a fight.
Fury's challenge comes after Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, said that a fight between the two boxers was still possible, but that it would require a lot of work to get the deal done.
"We're still working on it, but it's not easy," Hearn said. "Tyson Fury is a difficult opponent to negotiate with, but we're still trying to make it happen."
For now, it seems like Fury is willing to wait as long as it takes to get the fight he wants. He's been training hard and is confident that he can beat Joshua if they ever do step into the ring together.
"I'm not going anywhere, I'm still the best," Fury said. "I'll keep training, keep fighting, and keep calling out AJ until he finally signs the contract and we can put this rivalry to rest."
