The first yoruba nigerian president
I think there may be a misunderstanding here.
Nigeria is a federal republic with a presidential system of government, and the President of Nigeria is the head of state and government. However, the Yoruba people are an ethnic group from southwestern Nigeria, and while they have had significant representation in Nigerian politics, they have not had a President of Nigeria.
The first President of Nigeria was Nnamdi Azikiwe, who served from 1963 to 1966. He was a Igbo man from Eastern Nigeria.
Since then, Nigeria has had several presidents from different ethnic groups, including:
- Yakubu Gowon (Igbo) - 1966-1975
- Murtala Mohammed (Hausa) - 1975-1976
- Olusegun Obasanjo (Yoruba) - 1999-2007
- Goodluck Jonathan (Ijaw) - 2010-2015
- Muhammadu Buhari (Hausa) - 2015-present
So, to answer your question, there has not been a Yoruba Nigerian President.
