Tag west mosul

West Mosul is a district in the city of Mosul, Iraq. It is located on the western bank of the Tigris River and is one of the oldest and most historic parts of the city.

In 2014, the Islamic State (ISIS) captured West Mosul and held it for three years, during which time they destroyed many of the city's historic landmarks and infrastructure. The city was liberated by Iraqi forces in July 2017, but the aftermath of the conflict has left many residents without access to basic services such as electricity, water, and healthcare.
