Tag olisa metuh says he is not party to suit seeking to halt pdps august 17 national convention
A interesting development!
According to reports, Olisa Metuh, a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has denied being a party to a suit seeking to halt the party's August 17 national convention.
Metuh, who is currently facing trial for alleged money laundering and fraud, made this known through his lawyer, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), in a statement on Tuesday.
The statement reads: "Our attention has been drawn to a suit filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, seeking to halt the forthcoming national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled for August 17, 2022.
"We wish to categorically state that our client, Chief Olisa Metuh, is not a party to the suit and has no interest in the outcome of the convention. He is not aware of the suit and has not authorized anyone to file it on his behalf."
Metuh's lawyer further stated that his client is focused on his ongoing trial and has no intention of interfering with the internal affairs of the PDP.
It's worth noting that the suit seeking to halt the convention was filed by a group of PDP members who are reportedly dissatisfied with the party's leadership and are seeking to stop the convention from holding.
This development adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing drama surrounding the PDP's national convention, which is expected to be a crucial event in the party's history.
