- Only 12% of women in Afghanistan have access to a bank account, making it difficult for them to access financial resources and independence.
The report also noted that the situation for women in Afghanistan has deteriorated significantly in recent years, with the Taliban's return to power in 2021 leading to a surge in violence and human rights abuses against women and girls.
