Tag lopetegui named spain coach
A big news!
According to reports, Julen Lopetegui has been named the new head coach of the Spain national team, replacing Fernando Hierro who resigned after the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Lopetegui, 52, has a wealth of experience in club football, having managed teams like Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Porto. He was also the assistant coach of the Spanish national team under Vicente del Bosque from 2008 to 2014.
This appointment comes as a surprise, as Lopetegui was expected to take over as the manager of Real Madrid after Zinedine Zidane's departure. However, he was sacked by Real Madrid just hours before the 2018 World Cup, after it was announced that he would be taking over as the Spain coach after the tournament.
Lopetegui's first task will be to lead Spain to the 2020 European Championship, which will be held in 12 cities across Europe from June 12 to July 12, 2020.
