In the letter, Idris claimed that Adamu, who was appointed as the Acting IGP in August 2019, took away the vehicles without any justification or approval from the authorities.

Idris also alleged that Adamu's action was a breach of the Police Act and the Public Procurement Act, and that it was aimed at undermining his authority and that of the Force.

This development has sparked a lot of controversy, with many Nigerians calling for an investigation into the matter.
