Spains record scorer villa retires after 19 year career

I think there may be some confusion here!

David Villa, the Spanish professional footballer, has not retired. In fact, he is still an active player and has been playing for Vissel Kobe in Japan's J1 League since 2019.

David Villa is indeed Spain's all-time leading scorer, with 59 goals in 98 appearances for the national team. He won the Golden Boot at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and was a key player in Spain's successful campaigns in the 2008 and 2012 European Championships.

Villa has had a long and illustrious career, playing for clubs such as Real Zaragoza, Valencia, Atlético Madrid, and New York City FC, among others. He has won numerous titles and individual awards throughout his career, including the UEFA European Championship, the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, and the FIFA Club World Cup.

So, to clarify, David Villa has not retired from professional football.
