Sokratis hints at arsenal exit

Sokratis Papastathopoulos, the Greek defender, has hinted that he may be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season. In an interview with Greek newspaper Sport FM, Sokratis said:

"I have a contract with Arsenal until June 2023, but I don't know what will happen in the future. I have to think about my career and my family. I have to make a decision that is best for me and my family."

Sokratis has been with Arsenal since 2018, when he joined the club from Borussia Dortmund. He has made over 100 appearances for the Gunners, but has struggled for consistency and has often found himself out of the starting lineup.

The 32-year-old defender has also been linked with a move to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, as well as other European clubs. It remains to be seen whether Sokratis will indeed leave Arsenal in the summer, but his comments suggest that he is open to exploring other options.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that Sokratis can help the team secure a top-four finish in the Premier League and a spot in the Champions League, which could make him more attractive to potential suitors.
