Job Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
Knowledge of the South African Social Service Act and other relevant legislation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Key Responsibilities:

Provide social work services to patients and their families in a hospital setting
Conduct assessments and develop care plans for patients with complex social needs
Provide counseling and support to patients and their families
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
Identify and report cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation
Maintain accurate records and reports
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
