Shutdown averted trump signs budget bill

I think there may be some misinformation here.

On January 19, 2021, President Donald Trump did not sign a budget bill to avert a government shutdown. In fact, the government was already shut down for 35 days from December 22, 2018, to January 25, 2019, due to a budget impasse between Trump and Congress.

The shutdown was caused by a dispute over funding for a border wall along the US-Mexico border, which Trump had campaigned on and wanted to build. Democrats in Congress refused to provide the necessary funding, leading to the shutdown.

On January 25, 2019, Trump signed a short-term continuing resolution (CR) to reopen the government for three weeks, until February 15, 2019. This CR did not provide any funding for the border wall, but it did allow the government to reopen and federal employees to return to work.

After the three-week CR expired, Trump signed another short-term CR on February 15, 2019, to keep the government open until February 28, 2019. This was followed by a longer-term CR that kept the government open until September 30, 2019.

It's worth noting that the government has not had a complete shutdown since October 2013, when the government was shut down for 16 days due to a dispute over the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
