Shiites lawyer wants buratai sacked

It appears that there is a recent development in the news. According to reports, a lawyer representing the Shiites has filed a lawsuit against the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, seeking his sack.

The lawyer, Abdulhakeem Mustapha, is reportedly seeking a court order to compel the President to remove Buratai from office, citing alleged human rights abuses and violation of the rights of the Shiites.

The lawsuit is said to be in response to the December 2015 Zaria massacre, where the Nigerian Army clashed with the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), leading to the deaths of hundreds of Shiites and the destruction of their properties.

The lawyer is accusing Buratai of being responsible for the massacre and is seeking compensation for the victims and their families. He is also seeking a court order to prevent Buratai from holding public office in the future.

It's worth noting that the Nigerian government has denied any wrongdoing in the Zaria massacre, and the army has maintained that the clash was a legitimate operation to quell a violent uprising.

This development highlights the ongoing tensions between the Nigerian government and the Shiites, who have been demanding justice and compensation for the victims of the massacre. The lawsuit is likely to be a contentious issue, and it remains to be seen how the court will rule on the matter.
