LAUTECH Doctors Urge Hospital Management to Settle Lingering Crisis

Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria - The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital has called on the hospital management to urgently address the lingering crisis that has been affecting the smooth operation of the hospital.

In a statement issued on behalf of the association, the President, Dr. Olamide Ogunleye, lamented that the crisis has led to a significant decline in the quality of healthcare services being rendered to patients, and has also caused untold hardship for the doctors and other healthcare workers.

"We are calling on the hospital management to take immediate steps to address the crisis, which has been ongoing for several months. The situation is becoming increasingly unbearable for us, and we are worried about the impact it is having on the health of our patients," Dr. Ogunleye said.

The doctors listed some of the issues that need to be addressed, including the non-payment of salaries, non-provision of essential medical equipment and supplies, and the lack of a conducive working environment.

"We are not asking for the moon, we are simply asking for a fair and decent working condition that will enable us to provide quality healthcare services to our patients. We are tired of being treated like second-class citizens, and we will not continue to tolerate this situation," Dr. Ogunleye said.

The doctors also appealed to the government and other stakeholders to intervene in the crisis and ensure that the hospital is provided with the necessary resources to function effectively.

"We are calling on the government and other stakeholders to come to our aid and help us to resolve this crisis. We are not asking for a handout, we are asking for a fair deal that will enable us to provide quality healthcare services to our patients," Dr. Ogunleye said.

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital is a professional organization that represents the interests of resident doctors in the hospital. The association is committed to promoting the welfare and well-being of its members, and to ensuring that they are able to provide quality healthcare services to their patients.
