Sermon on new dawn

Here's a sermon on the theme of "New Dawn":

Title: "A New Dawn: A Fresh Start for a Brighter Tomorrow"

Text: Isaiah 60:1-3, Matthew 4:12-17

Introduction:

As we gather here today, I want to ask you a question: What does the phrase "new dawn" evoke in your mind? Is it a sense of hope, of renewal, of a fresh start? Or is it something else entirely? Perhaps it's a reminder of the challenges we face, the struggles we've been through, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead.

But today, I want to suggest that the phrase "new dawn" is not just a metaphor, but a promise. A promise that God is always with us, even in the darkest of times, and that He is always working to bring light and hope into our lives.

The Promise of a New Dawn

In Isaiah 60:1-3, we read these powerful words: "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you, and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn."

These words are a promise of a new dawn, a fresh start, a brighter tomorrow. They remind us that even in the darkest of times, God is always working to bring light and hope into our lives. And they remind us that we are not alone, that God is always with us, guiding us, directing us, and empowering us to be the people He created us to be.

The Challenge of a New Dawn

But a new dawn is not just a promise, it's also a challenge. It's a challenge to leave behind the darkness of our past, to let go of the things that hold us back, and to step into the light of God's presence. It's a challenge to trust in God's goodness, to trust in His sovereignty, and to trust in His plan for our lives.

As we face the challenges of our own lives, we may feel like we're stuck in the darkness, unable to see a way forward. But God is saying to us today, "Arise, shine, for your light has come." He is saying, "I am with you, I am for you, and I will guide you through the darkest of times."

The Power of a New Dawn

So what does it mean to experience a new dawn in our lives? It means to experience the power of God's presence, to feel His love and His guidance, and to know that we are not alone. It means to trust in His goodness, to trust in His sovereignty, and to trust in His plan for our lives.

It means to let go of the things that hold us back, to forgive ourselves and others, and to move forward with hope and confidence. It means to step into the light of God's presence, to shine for Him, and to be a beacon of hope to those around us.

Conclusion:

As we close this sermon today, I want to leave you with a challenge. I want to challenge you to trust in God's promise of a new dawn. I want to challenge you to trust in His goodness, His sovereignty, and His plan for your life. And I want to challenge you to step into the light of His presence, to shine for Him, and to be a beacon of hope to those around you.

May God bless you, may God guide you, and may God shine His light upon you, that you may be a light to the world. Amen.
