Sermon on behold i will do a new thing
Title: "Behold, I Will Do a New Thing"
Text: Isaiah 43:19, "Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Introduction:
Have you ever felt like you're stuck in a rut? Like you're going through the motions of life, but nothing seems to be changing? You're not alone. Many of us have felt that way at some point or another. But today, I want to remind you that God is a God of new beginnings. He is a God who specializes in doing new things.
The Context:
In the book of Isaiah, God is speaking to His people, the Israelites, who are in exile. They're feeling hopeless and helpless, wondering if God has abandoned them. But God is saying, "Don't worry, I'm not done with you yet. I'm going to do a new thing."
The Promise:
The promise is that God will do a new thing. He will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. This is a promise of hope and renewal. It's a promise that God is not limited by our circumstances. He is not limited by our past or our present. He is a God who can do the impossible.
The Application:
So, what does this mean for us today? It means that no matter what we're going through, God is still a God of new beginnings. He is still a God who can do the impossible. It means that we don't have to be limited by our circumstances. We don't have to be limited by our past or our present.
The Challenge:
But here's the challenge. We have to be willing to let go of our old ways of thinking. We have to be willing to trust God to do a new thing in our lives. We have to be willing to take a step of faith and trust that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.
The Assurance:
And here's the assurance. God is a God who is faithful. He is a God who is always working for our good. He is a God who is always doing a new thing. So, even when we can't see what's ahead, we can trust that God is working everything out for our good.
The Conclusion:
So, as we close, I want to leave you with a question. What is God doing in your life right now? Is He doing a new thing? Is He making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert? I encourage you to take a step of faith and trust that God is always doing a new thing. Trust that He is always working for your good. And trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Prayer:
Dear God, we thank you for being a God of new beginnings. We thank you for being a God who specializes in doing new things. Help us to trust you to do a new thing in our lives. Help us to take a step of faith and trust that you will make a way where there seems to be no way. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
