Senator Okonkwo Commiserates with Victims of Abule Ado Pipeline Explosion

Lagos, Nigeria - Senator Chukwuka Utazi, representing Enugu North Senatorial District, has expressed deep condolences to the victims of the recent pipeline explosion that occurred in Abule Ado, Lagos State.

The Senator, who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), described the incident as a national tragedy that has caused immense pain and suffering to the affected families.

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of lives and property that has resulted from this unfortunate incident. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, who have been left to grapple with the devastating consequences of this disaster," Senator Okonkwo said.

The Senator also commended the efforts of the emergency responders, including the Lagos State Government, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and other agencies that have been working tirelessly to contain the situation and provide relief to the affected communities.

"I urge the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the explosion and to take immediate steps to prevent such incidents in the future. We must learn from this tragedy and take concrete actions to ensure the safety and security of our citizens," Senator Okonkwo emphasized.

The Senator also called on the Federal Government to provide adequate compensation to the victims and their families, as well as to provide support for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the affected communities.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Abule Ado and the entire nation as we mourn the loss of lives and property. We must come together to support those affected by this tragedy and to rebuild our communities," Senator Okonkwo concluded.
