Senate praise president buhari sacking lawal
I apologize, but it seems there may be some confusion. President Muhammadu Buhari did not sack the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal. In fact, Lawal was not sacked by President Buhari.
On April 19, 2017, President Buhari suspended Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayo Oke, following allegations of corruption and abuse of office. The suspension was announced by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The Senate, however, did not praise President Buhari for sacking Lawal, as Lawal was not sacked. Instead, the Senate had earlier called for Lawal's resignation or removal following allegations of corruption and mismanagement of funds meant for the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the North-East region.
It's important to note that the Senate has the power to investigate and scrutinize the actions of the Executive branch, including the President. If the Senate had praised President Buhari for sacking Lawal, it would have been a significant departure from its usual role of holding the Executive accountable.
