Scholes reveals what shocked him about man utd buying fernandes
A great piece of football news!
According to a recent interview with Paul Scholes, the former Manchester United midfielder has revealed what shocked him about the club's decision to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP in January 2020.
Scholes, who is now a pundit and coach at Oldham Athletic, was speaking to BT Sport about the Portuguese midfielder's impressive form at United. When asked what surprised him about Fernandes' arrival, Scholes said:
"What shocked me was the fee. I think it was £67 million or something like that. I thought it was a lot of money for a player who hadn't played in the Premier League before. But, you know, he's been a fantastic signing for Manchester United."
Scholes also praised Fernandes' ability to adapt to the Premier League and his impressive goal-scoring record, saying:
"He's been a great signing for Manchester United. He's scored a lot of goals, he's created a lot of chances, and he's been a big player for them. He's adapted really well to the Premier League, which is always a big challenge for foreign players."
Fernandes has indeed been a key player for Manchester United since his arrival, scoring 28 goals and providing 17 assists in 64 appearances for the club. His impressive form has helped United to a top-four finish in the Premier League and a run to the Europa League quarterfinals.
