Ronnie DeVoe, also known as Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition!
Ronnie DeVoe is an American singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as a member of the R&B group New Edition. He was born on November 17, 1967, in Roxbury, Massachusetts.
DeVoe joined New Edition in 1981, along with Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ralph Tresvant. The group was formed in Boston and was one of the most popular R&B groups of the 1980s and 1990s.
As a member of New Edition, DeVoe sang lead vocals on several of the group's hits, including "Mr. Telephone Man," "Candy Girl," and "If It Isn't Love." He also sang backing vocals on many of the group's songs.
After New Edition disbanded in the early 1990s, DeVoe went on to pursue a solo career, releasing his debut album "Ronnie" in 1991. He also formed the R&B group Bell Biv DeVoe with Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins, which had several hit singles, including "Poison" and "Do Me!"
DeVoe has also made appearances on television, including a stint on the reality TV show "Dancing with the Stars" in 2011. He has also acted in several films and television shows, including "The Parkers" and "The Steve Harvey Show."
Today, DeVoe is still active in the music industry, performing with New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe, and also working as a producer and songwriter for other artists. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented and influential R&B singers of his generation.
