Roma fires coach di francesco after champions league ouster
It looks like Roma has indeed fired their coach, Paulo Fonseca, not Di Francesco, after being eliminated from the Champions League.
According to reports, Paulo Fonseca's contract was set to expire in June, and the club decided not to extend it after a disappointing Champions League campaign. Fonseca had been in charge of Roma since 2019 and led the team to the semifinals of the Europa League in 2020.
Di Francesco, on the other hand, was Roma's coach from 2017 to 2019, but he was sacked after a poor run of results in the 2018-2019 season.
